First FF game: Watched bits and pieces of FFVIII being played. The first I actively played myself was FFX.
Favorite FF game: Still FFX, even after all these years.
Which other FF games have you played? FFIV, FFVII (original only), FFVIII (completed on my own later), FFIX, FFX-2, FFXII, FFXIII
Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? FFX/X-2 was my first fandom, and I still think of it as home. I'm also active in FFXII and have poked my head into FFXIII.
For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind? I've started playing with a FFXII story, set post game, that will focus on the political situations in Dalmasca and Rozarria. It will be Al-Cid/Ashe (a sadly-underrepresented pairing that I love) and Ashe/Balthier (my FFXII OTP), and possibly also Al-Cid/Ashe/Balthier, if I can get that to work.
Anything else you think we should know? This is the first fandom project I have ever modded, so please be kind. >.>

I still find it weird to think of FFX as an older fandom. It makes me feel really, really old, because I remember waiting and anticipating for that game's release while still in the really old fandoms. XD But Ashe/Balthier is hot. I approve. ♥

Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in?"Active" is such a relative term, as I am a fannish slowpoke. Mostly ff8 and ff12 but I'm interested in fannish stuff for all the canons I like.
For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind? Vaan living on the Phon coast and being awesome with his new Viera bff while Noah is forced to work with moogles when he's kicked out of Arcades. And then they makeout and stuff. I live in a permanent state of denial about the ending of ff12.
For artists - What kind of stories do you like to create artwork for? Whatever Nay is writing for me. (haha, j/k. sort of. >D) I like rarepairs the best, so, whatever interesting obscure thing that catches my eye. I'm pretty fussy about characterization too, but I have a feeling I won't need to worry too much about shoddy works.
Anything else you think we should know? I'm attempting to both write and illustrate. I'm not as good of a writer as I am artist, but it will be a fun challenge.

First FF game: Final Fantasy IV, which I still cherish to this day. Yes, I am that old. I began playing FF as a child on my SNES. FF4 is not the most original of games, but what it does, it does well. Some things don't need to be fancy and elaborate to be enjoyed.
Favorite FF game: Main or entire franchise? For the entire franchise, my favorite Final Fantasy is, without a doubt, Final Fantasy Tactics. It had a superb, well-thought out story with interesting characters, and it did excellent homage in many ways to the works of Alexandre Dumas, one of my favorite authors. The gameplay is addictive and fun. It succeeded in a mature, complex storyline where most videogames fail. And the art is so adorable. From the main line, it's Final Fantasy VII. A cliche answer, but for a reason. The game is fairly simple and derivative, but its amalgamation of themes and elements from other sources is well done. The characters are loveable, and it's fun to play. While parts of the plot and localization left something to be desired, it hits the right notes, balancing personal pathos with epic cyberpunk fantasy without one overtaking the other. Its impact in video game history and pop culture is not without good reason.
Which other FF games have you played? Most of them. I've completed Final Fantasy I, II, IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, XII, and XIII. I have played, but not finished III, V, and X. Of the spinoffs, I have played Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. From the FF7 Compilation, I have seen Advent Children and completed Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core. I even completed Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. From Crystal Chronicles, I completed My Life as a King, and played but not finished the original Crystal Chronicles and Ring of Fates. I also played, but not finished, Dissidia.
Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? Many years ago (1999, to be precise), I was active in FF8's fandom until 2000 or 2001 or so. While I have a certain fondness for the game, the fandom does not really produce much related to my interests, so I don't have any desire to rejoin it. I also participated in FF9's fandom briefly. I did not initially join the FF7 fandom back in the day (though it was my first introduction to fandom, as I read its fanfics in 1999), but I lightly participate in it now. I also keep an eye out for the rare FF4 activity. I also lightly participate in FF13's fandom right now. My activity in the other FF fandoms has been negligible. Work and university eat up most of my time.

For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind? I'm working on FF13 story, post-game. Likely it will be Snow/Hope, but that could change. I am trying to resolve the issues left open by the end of the game, particularly revolving around Pulse, Cocoon, and the Fal'Cie. Mostly drama with some action and bit of romance.
Anything else you think we should know? Jeez, I think I've talked enough about myself already. >.> This is my third Big Bang for the summer--a summer of my first forays into Big Bang challenges alone (I've done an HP one as a co-author). It was intimidating at first, but after completing my stories for khrminibang and hardmode, I feel even more confident and excited for megaflare_ff. I'll begin once I'm not chained to studying for the GRE. And, um, I think that's more than enough from me. If you read all this, have a cookie. *shoves one at you*

Somehow this ended up being the Summer of the Big Bang, at least among the people on my flist -- the ones you mention, and the Ladies and Kink big bangs also have multiple participants that I know. Whereas this time last year, I didn't know anyone who was writing one. An interesting trend to emerge!

First FF game: To be honest, I suspect it was Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest back when you could still rent SNES games, but I kinda wasn't at the stage where I realized that there was a whole series of FF games.

Which other FF games have you played? FF III, FF IV, FF VI, Crisis Core - FF VII, FF VIII, FF IX, and FF X. All of these I still have not yet finished. Oh yeah and I've played FFCC: My Life as King, but I've finished that game. I also have a bunch of other FF games that I need to get around to playing, which are FF I, FF II, FF X-2, FF Tactics, FF XII. I don't own a PS3 or an Xbox 360, so I can't play FF XIII yet. I also have the original FFCC game to play and one of the ones for the Wii.
Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? Final Fantasy VII for the most part.
For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind? I'm planning on doing a Final Fantasy IV fic about Cecil and Golbez's parents and how they met each other and the whole courtship thing. I will likely write up until their father dies.
Anything else you think we should know? Uh, I got accepted as a beta tester for FF XIV? So technically I have played some of that game, but not in it's finished form. I can't talk about anything not released to the public though. Also, I have a bad habit of getting to just before the final bosses in the FF games and then sorta losing the will to finish. This is why I have not yet finished FF III, FF IV, FF IX, and FF X. I do intend on finishing FF IV (DS remake) this summer though since I'm near the end and maybe I'll do the same for FF III, except it's lot harder to get through to the final boss because of lack of save points. I'm just going to restart on FF X even though I'm just before the battle with uh, Jecht. He keeps pwning my team and it's making me sad.

Yes! Someone else who rented old FF games on the SNES and played Mystic Quest! Now I don't feel so old and alone. XD

I highly recommend Final Fantasy Tactics. The PSP port of it is a really nice upgrade.

It will be AU from the end of FFX (no FFX-2) and the pairing will be Kimahri/Rikku, which is my all time Final Fantasy pairing. I know, I know, it's weird. I had the idea for this story a long time ago soon after playing the game, but I didn't write it because I was afraid to write anything long. Then I saw this community advertised and thought, hey, maybe I can!
Anything else you think we should know? I'm embarrassed that I've played so few FF games. I do own FFVIII and FFIX also.

I'm hoping to write an independently standing sequel to this Tifa-centric story I wrote a long time ago, but I also have ideas for Aerith/Tifa and maybe something Cloud-centric. I'd also kinda want to spoof on Sephiroth-redemption stories with a Hojo-redemption story, but maybe that's going too far. XD
Anything else you think we should know? I'm a very nice and fluffy person who sometimes bites. I'm also socially anxious so I have slightly hard time participating in conversations/interacting with new people, so I'll probably be on the quiet side over here. For artists - What kind of stories do you like to create artwork for? I like genfic best; that's my reading preference. I would still enjoy making art for a story that revolves around romance, but I won't create any art that isn't safe for work, so I'll probably avoid stories where the focus is steamy sex scenes. I like stories that are really immersed in the final fantasy world, stories that take advantage of the nuances of the different places of the game and really make you feel you are reading about a facet of the game that just didn't get included in the original.
Anything else you think we should know? I am not super fast at making art.

Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? I'm most active in FFX/X-2 fandom (thanks to my obsessive love of Auron and liking Baralai/Gippal), and periodically wander into FFVIII and FFXII to write about Balthier and Vaan or Seifer and Zell.

Well, I did a poll, and I'm now writing an FFVIII fic I've been meaning to write since before I finished it. ^^; The closest thing I have to a summary right now is Deling soldiers are turning up brain dead. Esthar scientists are being shot at. SeeD candidates are being kidnapped. Seifer and Zell punch each other in the face. (Not covered in this summary: Lunar Cry monsters. Quistis being badass. Rinoa practicising with her sorceress powers. Squall getting a headache from facepalming. Laguna. Make-outs!) ... Yeah, this is going to end well. *cries*
Anything else you think we should know? I've never participated in a big bang before, and I've not written anything longer than 5000 words since I was fourteen and writing terrible fantasy AUs for Yu-Gi-Oh. HELP!

First FF game: FFVIII was the first one I was allowed to actually play. But I watched FFVII be played, and I was already in love.
Favorite FF game: Oooh... My favorite one to play is FFIX, but my favorite one to write for is a toss up between VII and VIII, with Crystal Chronicles trailing closely behind.
Which other FF games have you played? I have played FF, FFII, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFXI, FFXII, as well as FFVII:DoC, and CC:FFVII (and I have seen FFVIIAC). Also, FFCC, FFCC:MLaK, FFCC:RoF, FFCC:MLaDL, FFT, FFTA, FFTA2, Dissidia and KH.

Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? I have written fics for FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, and FFXII. I really haven't been active in the FF fandoms though for at least a year, probably longer. ^^;

For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind? Well, I'm doing FFVIII, with a slant toward a Irvine Kinneas/Zell Dincht pairing. I keep thinking that I might do it as an AU, but currently, I'm pretty up in the air about my plot. *laughs* Hopefully I'll get something nailed down soon!

For artists - What kind of stories do you like to create artwork for? I haven't decided yet if I'm going to try as an artist, but, in the event that I do (say, if I finish my MF early... X3), I like drawing slash and femme slash, quiet, romantic scenes are my favorite.

Anything else you think we should know? I love romance stories in particular, but I prefer romance that feels "realistic" in place of the swooning, men-act-like-lovesick-girls romance. I am also a major slash writer (even though I'm a woman, I find writing as a male character so much easier. I think it comes from roleplaying as Reno and Reeve for so many years), and I write... a lot of explicit stuff. Most of my work is not safe for consumption at work, although I'm always exceptionally careful to label everything so that no one is surprised by sudden graphic sex.
Another thing I feel like I should mention: I am transferring back to the FF fandoms finally, after a long time of not writing at all. I started writing fanfiction again less than a year ago, in Swooping Is Bad, a Dragon Age fan community for Alistair. ^^ You'll have to forgive me as I relearn the ins and outs of the FF fandoms!

Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? I've written fic for VI, VII, VIII, IX, X/X-2, and XII, though I'm never really active in any fandom in anything apart from fic-writing.
For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind? A Tifa/Rude FFVII AU where not long after being brought to Midgar helps out Rude in a fight (just seeing it as a bunch of people ganging up on one man without realizing what he is, of course, or she'd have thought twice about stepping in) and ends up being recruited into the Turks. She sees it as a great chance to find a way to sabotage the company from the inside, but is quickly disturbed by just how likable she finds the members of the big evil company she's supposed to hate forever that she deals with on a regular basis. For artists - What kind of stories do you like to create artwork for? A yaoi/shonen ai one. Other than that, I have no preference. The only think I don't draw is furry.
Anything else you think we should know? My native language is spanish, not english, so I sometimes don't understand certain things or it's difficult to communicate clearly. I'm very shy and have never really participated in a fandom before. I also never take anything seriously and love to make silly jokes about everything.

Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? I used to write fic for VIII back around 2000 but right now I'm probably more firmly into the DFF fandom than anything else. Also, since I finished XIII, I guess you can say I'm a bit active there too.
For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind?

Right now, the most prominent idea I keep thinking of is the backstory fanfic of one of my stronger RP muses that I've been meaning to write for a while, my Dark Sorcerer Squall (transient_beast. It takes place during DFF where Ultimecia actually manages to "coerce" Squall into being her Knight and having him betray everyone until Squall actually turns on her and absorbs her Sorcery power and continues to be a Warrior of Chaos. At least that's where I think I'm going with it. The only solid pairing for this would be Ultimecia/Squall (dub-con) with possible hinted pairings.

The second idea is another DFF story (post DFF) with a focus on FFVIII and FFVII worlds. Like there being "gates" that allows the other FF worlds to intermingle. Basically it's a prelude to Inter-World War type of fic with Galbadia (and SeeD) being the "antagonists". This idea actually brought around the conception of one of my other RP muses, a Female!Squall. And I kind of want to write this one with that female!Squall as the main character. Also, if I go with the Female!Squall route, I will also be using the idea of Ultimecia (having died in DFF) did pass along her sorceress powers. So yeah, not only is this about FF8 world invading FF7 world, it's a Becoming Sorceress fic if Fem!Squall.

Thirdly is my post-FF8 only idea. I probably won't write this one but hey, I might as well make a mention of it right? It's a fic set about ten to twenty years post game about how FF8 "present day" turned into Ultimecia's "future". This one is a tragedy and possibly a really bad one.

Anything else you think we should know? The last time I tried a big bang, I didn't finish or even start it because I simply forgot about it. This time, hopefully, will be different! Also, I ship Cloud/Squall in DFF so there's a good chance that in either fic idea 1 or 2 that it will be another "prominent" pairing (along with WoL/Squall).

Which other FF games have you played? In total, I've done FFI, FF4, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, FFX/FFX-2, FFXI (for a brief one month free subscription), FF12, and a little FF13. Also Tactics, Tactics Advance, Mystic Quest, a little Crystal Chronicles, a little FF4-After, a little FF12-RW, and of course Vagrant Story (which I know isn't FF, but is Ivalice's neglected half-sibling.)

Which FF fandoms are you now or have you been active in? FF8 was the first I wrote fic for, but FFX was my first major one. I've written a little for FF6, FF7 and FF12, and I try to read in FF4, but that's generally the extent of it so far. I'd like to finish my FF7 and FF12 fics someday, and every now and then I get a FF4 idea kicking around, but there's a backlog already.

For authors - What story idea(s) do you have in mind? I'll be expanding on the Wind is Free 'verse, which is the story that stemmed out of a Yuri Challenge fic for AU Ashe/Fran. It's a monster, where a single AU change (reversal of Ashe and Fran) ended up creating a domino effect that's touched on everything, so half the problem is figuring out what does and doesn't logically get swapped too.

Anything else you think we should know? I tend to just write whatever comes to mind. If it strikes my interest -- no matter how odd or mainstream it might be, m/f or f/f or m/m or other -- it's added to the list. I'm also prone to being tempted by completely bizarre suggestions. This is how such things as Nooj/Rin came about; they ended up as one of my favorite couples, ironically. Sometimes it's the most random ideas that turn out to be hilariously fun. ;)

The way I figure it Garnet is bound to have enemies within Alexandria for stamping out the easy-money black mage production, and also possibly for not being Brahne's daughter. Moreover Burmeia&Cleyra really took the full brunt of the war in general, and I can't imagine the Burmecians in diaspora would much appreciate how much Alexandrians still generally approve of Brahne. So. Politics! Spying! And very definitely Dagger taking up her namesake :|b

Idea #2:

- THE MOST STUPID, MOST AWESOME FINAL FANTASY VIII FANFIC EVER. What could this be!? An alternate interpretation of "why Laguna didn't come back to Winhill?" The answer: after the defeat of Sorceress Adel, Dr. Odine unleashes a zombie plague on Esthar (why? He wears the freaking Umbrella Corporation logo as a collar, that's why). This piece of ridiculousness is framed as a movie that Squall quietly suffers through, Selphie loudly enjoys, and everyone else falls somewhere in between.

Anything else you think we should know? I have the worst time ever meeting wordcount requirements. In anything. This will be an uphill battle and I will be sobbing all the way but I have been battling the worst writer's block for years now and goddammit I will persevere.

I'd love to do a crossover between FF9 and FF12, I can see a lot of potential playing in that area but I'm not sure if others would like to see it. XD

I wouldn't mind tackling life after the end of FFXIII with a focus on Hope/Lightning or just Lightning or just the group as a whole. I could tackle something in the FFX area as well, I just haven't returned to it in a long time. FFIX would be the same but I've recently began replaying it.

Anything else you think we should know? This is my first big bang type challenge, I've always wanted to try one but I either miss out on the sign up deadline or someone claims a story before I can claim it as a back up author.

Yay, someone else who has played FF13! Hope/Lightning is one of my favorite pairings (which usually involve some combination of Hope, Lightning, Cid, and Snow), so I'm very excited if you do FF13. I came up with the idea last year for a Halloween fic, but I scrapped it after about 1000 words because I realised it'd be a long fic and I only had four days to write. It's probably not going to be a nice fic. Leo is my main character and I have a history of being really mean to him. But I'm aiming for a mostly happy ending.
Anything else you think we should know? Despite my fandom ADD, FFVI is the fandom I can always count on to stay with me. It's like a close friend to me. You have no idea how many FFVI snippets are scattered around on my various hard drives and notebooks. If I feel like something nice and sweet? The children of Mobliz making flower garlands for their Terra-mama. Having a bad day? Well, if life gives you lemons, squirt lemon juice in the eyes of people you don't like, or let Kefka do the same, because he can get away with it.
