Can I say all of them? I like a lot of stuff: Penelo/just about anyone but especially Basch or Fran, and Balthier/Al-cid are the ones I'm most interested in for ff12. I don't read a lot of fic because I think the voices are really hard to nail and I can be fussy about that sort of thing.

For ff7, I like Cloud/Tseng or Cloud/any of the turks.

FF8 is probably my most "common" pairing, Seifer/Zell, but again with my fussiness there isn't a lot out there that really works for me.

In ff10/10-2, I like Tidus with Auron because I think the idea of two people who aren't really people is one that should be fun to explore. I also like Tidus/Gippal because I think it's funny and, although I like Yuna, I was never that entranced with their romance so I think the idea of her moving on, while still bringing Tidus back, is really interesting. Also, Rikku/Paine, yes pls.

So, some of those are more rare than others, but that's a pretty good list of I SHIP IT, though maybe not exhaustive. Pretty much, so long as I actually like a character, I'm game for shipping them.

I don't read a lot of fic because I think the voices are really hard to nail and I can be fussy about that sort of thing.

Just butting in to say that... that is my other main reason for not reading a whole lot of fanfiction. I obviously read more when university didn't eat me up, but for me, characterization is a number one priority, and even on games and ships I like, I can't read very far into a fic that doesn't gel. It's not just an FF phenomenon. I'm notoriously picky in all my fandoms. Sometimes, I resent that, though, because I want to like more fics and just lose myself in little stories. Sigh.

Balthier/Al-Cid! That is such a fun pairing, but I have only seen it written rarely, and then usually as crack. Although I'm not really pairing them in my story, I am hoping to get some nice tasty interactions between them.

The Tidus/Gippal idea is a particularly interesting one, because although we never see them interact in canon, I've always had the idea that they'd get on really well, both from their personalities and because Tidus gets on with all the other Al Bhed.

I've never actually read Balthier/Al-Cid but I've found some yummy fanart (sadly the site is no longer there, but I saved a few). I can see fic with them being a lot of PWP because people don't know how to handle them.

Yeah, that's kind of why I like the idea of them. I think they could play blitzball and makeout on beaches and be hottt and tan together. >D
