Hey, Authors! How's it going? We're not quite halfway through the official writing period, between the end of sign-ups and the due date for rough drafts, so

renay and I thought this would be a good time to check in with everyone. Comment to this post with a sentence (or so) from your story, and then let us know how it's going. And if the answer is: not very well, hey, that's okay. You still have plenty of time, and probably plenty of people to commiserate with you.

FFIX Post-Game and Name Discussion

Item the first: Now that I have something almost resembling an outline, I'm starting to wonder if I won't be shooting part of my premise in the foot re: the living status of minor characters.

( Spoilers for Cleyra, I guess? )

Item the second: Something which has always confounded me is just what to do with Garnet/Dagger's name. Should I always refer to her as "Garnet," unless she is being spoken to as someone who would address her as "Dagger?" Is there an established convention for how to deal with characters who have aliases?

FF8 Post-Game Ideas

So, I've figured out my plot for my Megaflare, and I was wondering how many of us were planning on writing post-Final Fantasy 8 fics. For those of us who are, how many have really given thought to the state of the world that the game leaves us in?

For the record, I'm really nervous being the first one aside from a mod to post here. I feel like I'm doing something naughty. :X Hopefully, this is what the mods intended for us to discuss and chat about here! If not, forgive me, please. ^^;

Finally, time for my own opinions about the characters themselves. I am an opinionated person, and I am well aware that not everyone will agree with me. This is good! We want to fost discussion and thought, not just blind agreement here.

boss_battle is a community for everyone participating in Mega Flare. Looking for some canon help? Need a place to vent or a shoulder to cry on?
